A popular resource at the Central Library Arts & History Department is the Music practice rooms. Each room has a Roland digital keyboard providing players with a range of tone settings that includes: grand piano, harpsichord, string, organ and vibraphone.
Instrumental soloists, singers and small ensembles with acoustic instruments can be accommodated in the rooms but groups should call ahead to discuss their space requirements. Amplified instruments are not allowed due to sound restrictions of the rooms.
Players can book a maximum of 2 hours time per day by calling the Library or booking in person at the Arts & History Help Desk. So if you're needing to warm up for an audition or just want to play some of your favourite tunes consider booking time in the Music practice rooms at the Central Library.
