Our heartiest congratulations to Alice Munro, winner of the 2009 Man Booker International Prize! This prize is awarded every 2 years to a living author whose body of work has contributed to an achievement in fiction on the world stage. The panel of judges stated that "to read Alice Munro is to learn something every time that you never thought of before". The prize has been awarded twice before, to Ismail Kadare in 2005 and to Chinua Achebe in 2007. While you're waiting for her new book of short stories, Too Much Happiness, to arrive in October, you might want to check out Alice Munro's Best: selected stories
