Families in the Garden & the Jungle...Summer Reading at the Library

It's a jungle out there!  With summer officially here, trees and gardens are greening our neighborhoods and parks -- and the library's Summer Reading Club with its "Destination Jungle" theme.  Read on to find library books on gardening with children and to learn about great summer children's programs at the library!

Looking for books on gardening with your children?  Whether you have a backyard patch to work with, a community garden, or a balcony planter, this new book, 101 Kid-Friendly Plants: Fun Plants and Family Garden Projects will give you and your children the low-down on favorite perennials, annuals and houseplants.  The book includes plant care and use -- and projects like a 5 senses container garden!

Check out this list of other books on gardening with children.

The library's TD Summer Reading Program "Destination Jungle" brings  the jungle right to London, Ontario.  Registration is free and starts Saturday, June 26th at your local branch.  For more information on the Summer Reading Program click here!

All the summer the library offers exciting eco-friendly programs for children of all ages including Backyard Jungle (4+),  Tremendous Trees (10+) and Painting Flowerpots (6-12 years) -- a great way to explore things-that-grow with your child!
